I’m a firm believer that there isn’t a single ‘Best Mouse for WoW’ due to the wide variety of peripherals available these days. But there are incredible products available at every price point.

Additionally, with the modern era of wow having FAR less possible combinations of keybindings; the 12 button MMO mice of old are not as strict of a requirement as they once were.

What Makes a Mouse Good for MMOs and ‘The Best Mouse for WoW’?

There’s one big difference between an MMORPG mouse and a regular gaming mouse. Extra buttons.

MMOs are notorious for having a ridiculous amount of keybindings; but a mouse with some extra buttons can help. Keep an open mind to some mouses with less buttons though. As I describe in my keybinding guide (coming soon).¬†There’s far less required keybindings in WoW than there were a few years ago.

That’s about it. Their far inferior to any other gaming mouse other than the (largely unnecessary) amount of buttons.

With that being said, here’s some other things you should consider when choosing a WoW mouse.

Comfort – This one seems obvious. But make sure that the mouse you plan on buying fits your grip style (claw grip or palm grip). Unfortunately, most MMO mouses don’t fit the claw grip style very well due to the larger size required to fit the extra buttons on the mouse.

Other Uses – Is the mouse going to be your daily driver? Do you play other games that may require a better sensor? If you’re playing 75% WoW and 25% Counter Strike, you may want to go with something that plays well in shooters as well.

Wired / Wireless¬†– Any serious or competitive gamer will tell you that a wired mouse is far superior. And I would agree; in most cases. If you’re willing to pay a little bit extra there are some very very competitive wireless mice available. Are you ready to cut the cord? Personally, I like to keep my desktop and gaming space as clean as possible – so wireless is a huge plus.

Let’s Dive right in and help you find the best mouse for wow – for your particular needs.

Budget Friendly: Red Dragon M901 PERIDITION

Best Mouse for Wow - Red Dragon MMO Mouse

The Red Dragon M901 is a very traditional MMO mouse that doesn’t have many bells and whistles. But it’s definitely the best mouse for WoW at this price point.

The mouse features 18 mouse buttons, an average DPI, and a decently high quality feel at a low price.

  • Cheap
  • Plenty of extra buttons
  • RGB lighting
  • Decent drivers
  • Remove able weights

  • Plasticy feel
  • Tacky looking (IMO)

Mid Range: Corsair Scimitar Pro

Corsair Scimitar

The new and improved version of the original Corsair Scimitar, which would have been on this list of this awesome piece of hardware hadn’t been released.

The Corsair Scimitar Pro takes the original model and improves the performance, look, and feel; without breaking the bank.

This mouse is just awesome for the price. It’s one of my favorite mice and I think it’s a great contender to be the ‘best mouse for wow’.

The build quality is superb, the design is sleek, and the functionality is exactly what gamers are looking for.

There’s plenty of features any type of gamer will love such as: rgb lighting, high dpi, and adjustable extra mouse buttons. All for a reasonable price.

  • High quality feel
  • Sleek look
  • 16,000 DPI
  • Adjustable mouse buttons

  • Not a fan of the Corsair drivers

High End: Razer Naga (Trinity)

Razer Naga

Unless you’re brand new to WoW and the MMO genre; you’ve probably heard of the Razer Naga. So there should be no surprise that it made this list.

Razer did recently release a new version of their iconic MMO mouse and it’s jam-packed with awesome features. Unfortunately, it did bump the price tag up a little bit – but it’s totally worth it.

If you’re looking for a pure bread MMO mouse; you’ve found it. This is by far, the best mouse for wow.

The latest model features 16,000 dpi, rgb lighting, and 3 interchangeable side plates to fit the button layout you want.

  • Awesome quality
  • High DPI
  • RGB lighting
  • Interchangeable side buttons

  • Not very practical for other types of games

Bonus High End: Logitech G903 (or G900 + G703)

OK this isn’t your traditional MMO mouse – but hear me out.

The G903 is simply the best gaming mouse available – not just the best mouse for wow. Hell, it’s not even just the best gaming mouse it’s the best mouse available.

The Logitech G903 has been my daily driver for nearly a year now and I don’t have a single complaint.

It may only have 2 extra side buttons, which I thought would be a huge turn off for me coming from a 12 Button Mouse (Razer Naga). But I haven’t missed the extra 10 buttons in the slightest.

With 2 extra mouse buttons I can actually have 6 (or more) in-game key binds using Shift, Ctrl, or Alt modifiers + side buttons.

If you really want to push this mouse to it’s full potential pick up the wireless charging mouse pad with it. It may defeat the idea of eliminating a wire from your desk; but you’ll never have to plug your mouse in to charge again.

Additionally, the wire from the mouse pad doesn’t move like it would a traditional mouse. So no more getting your mouse stuck on that 6 week old coffee mug you pushed behind your monitor.

  • The best sensor available on any mouse
  • Wireless
  • Charging mouse pad is awesome
  • Mechanical mouse buttons feel solid
  • Software is easy to use
  • Left or Right handed
  • Comfortable for a palm grip or claw grip

  • Only 2 extra mouse buttons
  • Expensive
